All major US players from at&t, Verizon, T-Mobile USA ,Alltel Wireless and Sprint have granted approval for the launch of the TxtVox Alert Application?

TxtVox what?
Apparently TxtVox offers a text messaging platform that sends specific alerts to consumers depending on ads. The alerts are free and final release is weeks away.

From the press release
“I am extremely pleased with the rapid approval of our application by key domestic mobile operators”, said Phil Nadel, President of TxtVox, Inc. “We are confident that mobile subscribers will be thrilled with the breadth of content that is available through TxtVox–weather, traffic, stock market, sports, jobs, classified ads and lots more”.

What we think
Will RSS on mobile delete the need or demand for these types of SMS Alert services? It’s too early to tell – but SMS alerting alone doesn’t sound new or exciting.
