UKTI organises a webinar to help British firms attend this ICT show
For 2014, the UK has become the official partner country for CeBIT 2014 which claims to be the world’s largest ICT trade fair. It is held every year at the Messe (conference centre) in Hanover, Germany. This show welcomes more than 330,000 visitors from all over the world. Affectionately known as Snowbit (because of the high chance of inclement weather), there are frequently major announcements from the big cellular players at this show. GoMo News remembers Samsung announcing its support for Symbian at this event, for example. To support British firms wishing to take part at Hanover, the UK department of Trade & Industry (UKTI) has organised a 60 minute webinar on 3rd December 2013 between 15:00 – 16:00 (UK time).
The webinar will inform participants of what support the UKTI can offer to UK exhibitors in terms of grants; UKTI pavilion participation; matchmaking; a start-up competition; and the UK-German ICT summit.
At CeBit Hanover, there will be UKTI pavilions and a UK-German IT summit as well as numerous high-level dinners, receptions and other activities for UK exhibitors and visitors alike.
The UKTI intends to use CBit 2014 as an opportunity to showcase UK innovation and bring UK technology to the attention of the global ICT world market.
This webinar addresses ICT companies and companies from related sectors of all sizes, including start-ups.
The opening ceremony will be attended by Chancellor Angela Merkel who, of course, is well known for her anger at the US hacking her mobile phone.
Compared with last year at the same time, CeBIT has reported an increase in exhibitor registrations.
“Our commitment to ’100 percent business’ and the new sector-centric layout of the show closely mirror market requirements, ” said Oliver Frese, a member of the board at Deutsche Messe which organises CeBIT.
He added, “The response from Asia in general and China in particular has been very positive.”
