Virtual gifts get mobile with Fun Text

I wish my son would be happy with a virtual gift. He is turning 5 on Monday the 18th and I got him a Nintendo DS. A lot more expensive that a virtual gift from Fun Text.

But anyway  - Fun Text is rolling out peer to peer messaging in the US and US.

Why?
Apparently Facebook style sending presents on mobile is taking off.

From the press release

The exclusive content, commissioned by Fun Text from award-winning mobile production studio Mobstar Media, is now available on major operators such as Sprint, T-Mobile and 3.

‘Mobstar has a great history of providing groundbreaking mobile content and we were delighted to team up with Fun Text to create a new messaging product that hits the zeitgeist of how modern consumers communicate,’ said Dan Price, Head of Global Accounts at Mobstar. ‘We’re sure that the gifts will be a great success.’

‘Mobile messaging needs to stay relevant to a generation growing up on social networks and IM,’ said James Pycock, business development director at Fun Text. ‘With millions of virtual gifts being sent on Facebook through applications such as ‘The Bakery’, we felt it was time to move mobile on from so called ‘mcards’.’

What we think?
Huh? James Pycock – I know that name isn’t that company the emotion SMS company?  I have to say I am getting all confused. But anyway – it would be good to know the price of these visual gifts if they cost more than the MMS price or what the average cost will be.
