Visual Voice Mail on Vodafone in Germany by Speech Design
Vodafone Germany uses Speech Design’s solution to allow its customers to get voice messages “pushed” to their mobile handsets
Speech Design has implemented its Visual Voice Mail service on Vodafone. In addition, the innovative “Call Completion Suite” also boosts the number of successful connections by providing intelligent notifications of all failed call attempts to both callers and the called parties.
Visual Voicemail What?
Visual Voicemail is an email style voice mail solution. Basically you more information on who has called with names and numbers for a easier playback.
How does it work?
I mean email voicemail doesn’t sound too hot –but this seems to use MMS delivery to make the voice services convert to a mailbox for calls, retrieval, message storage etc.
My ex-colleague Emma Mohr McClune at Current Analysis says about the service, “This service is unique in Germany and is a real improvement on conventional voice and touch-controlled mailbox systems. The Visual Mailbox from Vodafone shows current mailbox systems to be outdated and cumbersome – a market advantage which will attract greater customer loyalty.”
Jans Martens CEO of Speech Design says, “All the calls that would have been lost previously are now detected, and both callers and the called parties are offered easy-to-use options which quickly lead to a successful connection. In addition to improved reachability for the customers, from the carrier perspective the network efficiency and the overall call completion rates are significantly increased. We are extremely pleased by Vodafone Germany’s decision to select Speech Design as its partner for this innovative, large-scale deployment”.
What we think?
I haven’t tested this but I am going to go with the Current Analysis view of this one as they obviously have. But I do think that ensuring users no longer have to dial in for voicemail is a very very good thing.
