Rating: voo hoo! Where are you?

Firstly I need to apologise to readers of The Mobile Search Analyst as I said in last months issue that the Vodafone and Yahoo! partnership had not yet begun. I said this because every day I go to Vodafone live! and I have never ever seen an out of live! advert.

Today – I got an email response from Vodafone on the ad-inventory issue and I was guided to the Weather section (where I don’t usually go) and shiver me timbers… Yes! It happened. I saw my first non-Vodafone branded advert on Vodafone live! promoting the car manufacturer Nissan.

So there you go. The relationship is live but considering I surf regularly that was the first advert I have seen. What does this mean? No Inventory of course. Ad fill is a tough call for everyone out there even if you are called Vodafone or Yahoo!
But this is a surprise considering the amount of emails BKI Media and GoMo News gets from media companies asking about mobile advertising…

The deeper I get into the world of mobile ad-inventory the more and more I uncover. It’s actually a grey area but without the advertisers there really isn’t a mobile advertising market.
