Vodafone
Vodafone in Germany has launched online roaming rates for viewing or consuming mobile data when abroad. The new offer is called WebSessions and it is available in 32 countries.
This new service extends the original WebSessions for business users that was launched during CeBIT.

EURO Price Vodafone WebSessions

National Use
15 Minutes 1,95
2 hours 9,95
24 hours 14,95
International Use
24 hours 14,95

What we think?
Quite frankly it’s still too expensive. This is for the Internet on a mobile phone and is for prepaid users. So why on earth would they want to spend EUR 14.95 per day? The packages are also restricted by time. 15 minutes is a very short time and even with 3G reflects the time that is needed to set up or access mobile email. The 2 hour package is the best of a poor lot but EUR 9.95 is taking the biscuit. EUR 5 would have been more like it.

Vodafone this is a very cheesy poor offer. Its not enough to launch WebSessions the trick is to make it so affordable that consumers WANT to use the mobile Internet abroad.

Also with “time” offers on a mobile once users’ sign in they have to surf until the time is up. This is cumbersome.
