Vodafone live! 4eva

The amount of time that was spent to data and Vodafone live! and savings in the Vodafone analyst/press conference tells me that Vodafone is wising up to the tricks of the trade when it comes to branded mobile players and playing the “impoverished mobile operator”.
I am in no doubt that it either didn’t have to pay Google or the fact that Google delivered the mobile internet revamp (many) months late, discounts or other negotiations were made.
Data is growing. Data revenue increased by 45.1% and there are now over 21 million 3G devices. Arun Sarin boasts that the mobile internet offering has been refreshed and it has many new partnerships (Google and Yahoo!); But and it’s a massive but. Investigation of all UK mobile portals, leads us to believe that Vodafone live! is one of the worst mobile portals in the UK and Germany.
The data growth is probably a result of innovative tariffs and pricing where in Germany I know that Happy Live! 3G is pushed heavily at the point of sale and there is an increased amount of try before you buy “free for 30 day” campaigns that will result in organic growth but not necessarily happy, data rich and active consumers.
