VoiceSignal signs up for advertising with AdMob
Rating: voice ads are bubblin’

Voicesignal (now owned by Nuance) has partnered with AdMob to create mobile advertising for VSearch.
This is voice search with a twist – users speak commands to find the service but the response is text based and bundled with adverts from AdMob. Unlike some companies that are now creating triggered voice adverts for podcasts this remains a text based mobile Internet service.
From the press release
“VSearch is a new paradigm for the future of local search. Information is
easier to get for the end user because it is ad-supported. We are delighted
to be partnering with industry leader and market innovator in AdMob to
bring this to market.”
“We are excited to partner with VoiceSignal in delivering a more
relevant mobile experience to the mobile subscriber,” commented AdMob
European Managing Director, Russell Buckley. “VoiceSignal’s local search
service adds a significant new dimension of highly targeted inventory to
our advertising partners.”
What we think?
Touting relevancy is one thing but with voice what happens if the engine mis-interprets the command? Then the advertising and the results will be wrong –but the consumer will have still spent the money.
