Volkswagen Mobile Services with E-Plus in Germany
Only in the Germany – the land of the cars. Mobile operator E-Plus has created a special mobile phone service with Volkswagen.
What is it?
Basically it’s a tariff called V10 – 10 cents per minute in all networks.
With a special Surf& Mail flatrate with 50 inclusive SMS messages.
How do you get it?
You can get it under the brand Volkswagen TeleCom at all Volkswagen shops.
Volkswagon will have its own mobile service from June and is also working on in-car entertainment and services for its own mobile subscribers.

Neben dem V10 Tarif ist bei Volkswagen Zubehör auch die übersichtliche Auswahl an Top-Endgeräten vom Einsteiger- bis zum Business-Handy optimal auf die Ansprüche der Zielgruppe ausgerichtet.

Thomas Rath, Geschäftsführer der Volkswagen Zubehör GmbH, sieht in der neuen Ausrichtung der eigenen Marke Volkswagen TeleCom und der Kooperation mit der E-Plus Gruppe Potenzial für starkes Wachstum im hart umkämpften Markt: “Durch die hohe Identifikation mit der Marke sind wir sicher, dass wir viele Volkswagen Kunden für unser Mobilfunkangebot begeistern können. Aber natürlich stehen die Services auch Personen zur Verfügung, die noch keinen Volkswagen fahren.”
What we think?
Yikes. Its certainly cheap. But who knows what all the other services are going to cost in the car – for example bluetooth services – in car mobile stereo systems or even the mobile device. Unless (OMG) why didn’t I see that before – this might be the in-car only device? So you have a low cost call all you want in your car super doper special rate. It would save on dual-handy SIM cards and tariffs, I suppose?
But more details in June when I will go to the local VW shop and check it out.
