Rating: You’ve been Vringod

by Bena Roberts

Vringo is a new company that was founded in 2006. It has developed software that allows video share via mobile by form of video “dial-up” calling tones.
How does it work?
1. Friend places a call
2. Receiver is able to see the video ring tone or “vringo” that the friend has chosen to share while waiting to pick up the call.
3. So instead of simply listening to a dial-up tone or ring-back tone the person being called can see the video.
4. The video ringtone can be bought or self created.

The Vringo is a hot new idea. It will be huge especially in relation with the tie-up of user generated mobile content. As user created content kicks-off the Vringo could be the fastest, simplest and quickest way to alert friends of gossip, show-off or promote artists and artistic talent.

GoMo News can wait to test it at 3GSM!
