Vringo is to offer Discovery Channel video ringtones.
OK. I have to stop there because what was that awful really annoying song “doing like we do it on discovery channel?” With those awfully unattractive boys prancing around in bunny outfits.

I hated it but since reading this – this is all I can think of.

I am due to meet Vringo at CTIA and I can’t wait to test these ringtones – despite this awful song ringing in my head.
Basically this new service from Vringo offers discovery content for self-creating video ring-up tones. So I call the Vringo user and see user generated/ discovery content.

From the press release
“Vringo is thrilled to be able to add Discovery Channel content to the Vringo collection of video ringtones,” said Jon Medved, Vringo CEO. “From sunset scenes to raging elephants and brewing storms, there’s something for everyone—and it’s all free. By expanding our catalog of video ringtones, we’re helping Vringo users become more creative in how they communicate—another step toward making Personalization 2.0 a reality.”

“Discovery offers a wealth of content from natural history and wildlife to adventure and lifestyle that is perfectly suited for Vringo’s video ringtones,” said Doug Craig, senior vice president, New Media Operations, Discovery Communications. “We are continuously looking for opportunities to connect with new viewers and extend the reach of our brands. Vringo’s platform offers a fun and exciting way for consumers to interact with Discovery’s content.”

What we think?
Lets test like we test at CTIA… (oh dear).
