Rating: Rating mnatives sends out spam dressed as A2P stats

On the surface of it, information supplied to us by someone posing as mnatives about the market for Application to Person (A2P) electronic messaging looked fresh. Whilst other news sites have fallen for it, GoMobile News discovered that some of the stats date back as far as 2007! So, to put the record straight we are publishing the stats that were supplied in the spam message as a warning that they are much less than current. We’re not sure that ACL Mobile will be very happy with its name being taken in vein, either.
Here we go (and watch out for it appearing as fresh in the search engines) …
“ACL Mobile Ltd, is predicting that the marketplace for Application to Person (A2P) electronic messaging is on the verge of exploding. ”
“Particularly it says that web business – and geographical region internet giants particularly, extending email and social networking services with SMS particularly into rising markets. ”
“ACL Mobile Ltd says that app developers and marketers are driving demand for A2P electronic messaging, as they’re progressively viewing push electronic messaging and SMS to drive downloads, engagement and to activate customers.”
“The electronic messaging specialist quotes business watchers like ABI analysis estimating that social networks and portals are going to be generating 314 billion SMS messages in 2015.”
“ACL Mobile promoting Watch foretelling that A2P SMS can overtake person-to-person SMS in 2016.”
