Rating: Mobile marketing startup plotting rapid international expansion

Mobile marketing startup, Warply, has hired two leading mobile industry figures – Kartik Ram and Sixto Arias. The new appointments come right at the conclusion of Warply’s first year of operation for and at a moment when an plan of international expansion is being implemented. Kartik Ram will join the company as director of sales for the United States and Asia and Sixto Arias has been appointed as a key advisor. Ram joins Warply from Adfonic, one of the world’s largest mobile advertising networks. Arias brings his wealth of experience to the company having founded the Mobile Marketing Association in Spain.
Within his role, Kartik will lead Warply’s business development team.
The company believes that Kartik’s proven background in scaling mobile marketing organisations profitably, accessing new markets and overall senior level of experience, will help Warply to ensure that it continues to grow at a record pace.
Warply aims to establish a leadership position within the mobile marketing and advertising market.
“Hype needs to catch up with execution in order for the promise to be real,” Kartik Ram commented.

Kartik comes to Warply with nearly 20 years of experience in the mobile marketing and advertising sector. Most recently, he was general manager for Asia with Adfonic.
Prior to that he has served as senior vp for One97, a pioneer in mobile internet delivering mobile content, advertising and commerce services across Asia and as a director of sales with Velti.

Sixto Arias
Sixto Arias has joined Warply as an advisor to the board. Sixto is a seasoned entrepreneur having founded Mobext.
Currently part of the Havas media group, Mobext is a company that offers an end-to-end, mobile marketing agency service to clients with presence in 19 markets globally.
Sixto is also a lecturer in several Universities across Spain, namely Universidad Complutense de Madrid, Universidad CEU Cardenal Herrera, ESIC and IE Business School.
