Basically the URL didn’t work
This is probably going to be one of the shortest QR barcode roundups that GoMo News has ever done. We have always maintained that here in the UK at least, the drinks industry is one of the most prolific users of QR code technology in their promotional campaigns. So when we spotted another beer mat with an enticing QR code on it, we enthusiastically scanned it in. That’s as far as we got.
The beer mat was promoting Coors Light [Lite] here in the UK so we expect a brand as experienced as Molson/Coors to have got its act together.
Apparently not. The QR code takes you to www.coorslight.co.uk/qr/ and then nothing happens. Somebody forgot to check this out.
We don’t even think the beer mats were out of date. The blurb indicated that we were supposed to be provided on some kind of information to do with penguins.
But no bananas. Shame really because in our estimation the Claude van Damme fronted campaign was going so well.
