Welcome to Macau - have a mobile barcode
So, I have been in Macau less than one hour and I get an SMS…
” Welcome to Macau! Just show the offer coupons and your mobile phone network CTM to enjoy various offers. Coupons will be delivered at CTM Shops and tourist spots”.
Now, at first I loved this. All I have to do is show I am using CTM and I will benefit from coupons - OH JOY!
But after about 2 minutes I thought - where is the opt in? I am about to do a two hour shopping tour followed by 2 hours with some operator friends (probably not blogable though) - will * be swamped in spam? Apart from the fact that I am a tourist - what does CTM know about me? How will it target the coupons?
My elation has turned to fear as this maniac analytical mind of mine starts churning around ideas for these coupons and whether or not I actually want them.
I mean - “will be delivered” means that you are getting them so put up and shut up. But its also written in such as way in that you are being done a favour and coupons are good -but only if you use CTM.
