WIN plc and Digital Chocolate have announced a deal for mobile gaming. Digital Chocolates main business is in developing mobile games, and it will be providing the content for WIN to distribute. The method of distribution will be through shortcodes published in puzzle magazines. Readers will be to download the games during July and August simply by texting the shortcode number.
During the two month campaign, Digital Chocolate will be offering mobile puzzle like Sudoku and Pictoplay. Puzzle magazines have a previous good record for entering into the mobile market. What we think?
Seems like a smart place to advertise, to me. If you’ve got someone buying a puzzle magazine, they’re already more likely than average to spend a little money on a decent mobile puzzle game. The key here is to keep ‘em hooked once you’ve attracted their attention. If Digital Chocolate can keep on providing fresh content for their mobile puzzle games, they could secure some great return customers. Integrating decent value-added services like championship boards, multiplayer mobile tournaments or incentives (like mobile coupons) for playing puzzle games might even convince people to enter into a monthly subscription fee.
