So what’s so different about this event compared with, let’s say, the Mobile Marketing Association Forum in Barcelona last month or the Mobile Web Americas conference? Energy. At this conference people ask very tough questions and expect answers. The result is that far more information exchanged than at the other two where the whole ethos was not to say anything controversial or to upset anyone. Here there is a great deal of plain speaking and consequently a great deal more information is exchanged. That is not to say that the atmosphere is at all hostile, on the contrary, it’s lively and cheerful.

As one person commented over lunch, “The difference is that here there are a lot of people who’ve made a lot of money out of the mobile ecosystem already, rather than people trying to figure out how to do it.”

And as yet another rejoined, “Yes and mostly it’s adult content – just like with the web, those people were fastest off the blocks.”

Well looking around at the attendees and sessions(!) I cant’ really argue.
