This is a lighter twist on mobile search. Wow-Coupons.mobi is a new site that allows users to sign up for find coupons and special offers.

From the press release
“Mobile phone purchases are outweighing personal computer purchases four to one around the globe, proving the necessity of the .mobi domain,” said Wow Things, Inc. President, Elena Potoupa. “As the number of users, who have Internet access on their mobile devices continues to increase, so does the opportunity for marketers to appeal to those consumers and establish their mobile brand presence.”

“Let’s say driving after work you decide to stop by Barnes & Noble to get that book you have wanted for a long time. In the store, you remember that Barnes & Noble usually has printable coupons which can save 10 to 46% off book’s list price. You can simply use your mobile web service and visit to see what coupons are currently available,” said Wow Things, Inc. President, Elena Potoupa. “Then, it is your choice to buy the book or possibly to go to any location (office supplies store, business center, etc.), which would allow you to use a computer and print a coupon which can potentially save you a lot of money.”

What we think
These are print and save coupons which are great for saving money but not always great in a shop. Its an ideal tool for any bargain hunter that plans ahead. But really for this to fly in mobile all the coupons need to be barcodes and printing must be deleted from the equation. A little bit of work could go into the search as well as it could or should be localised to the user.
