Rating: Forget Yahoo! Gracenote Rocks

Gracenote
I find it funny how companies decide which companies to buy and which companies to partner with. Gracenote has a brilliant music search engine and are on the BKI Media/ GoMo list of hottest music search companies in the world. We first discovered Gracenote when it launched services with KDDI in Japan. Its music radio search is on fire and I would have thought that this would be a company that Yahoo! would want to swallow not partner with?

Anyway Yahoo! Music has a new licensing agreement with Gracenote. Consumers can now search for song lyrics from the Yahoo! Music Search bar. This is interesting – but we care more when this gets mobile and stronger sexier mobile services get integrated into the Yahoo! Go application.
