Yahoo! ATT New Mobile Search- GoMo News checking it out

by: Bena Roberts Monday, September 8th, 2008

Yahoo is to be the default search engine on ATT in the US.  There is a new partnership and Yahoo! oneSearch becomes the face of ATT’s MediaNet.

Sorry for the bad picture quality below I am going to have to sort it out but I did some testing on this this morning.

So, I pulled out my N95 and I have an unlimited data package and I have been testing it. I will keep doing so all week.  But my initial thoughts - its very simple and easy.

I like:
The weather at the top set to where you are locally.

I don’t like:
The tiny non-expandable search box. It kills the experience.  It is simply terrible. Mobile search is supposed to be the face of the mobile Internet not a crap small box in the corner.

I love:
The results a search on GoMo News simply rocked with local US content first and my winksite  (exact link here) got to the top of the page. Have to work on quality this week and will upload pictures.

I am not sure about:
The VERY strange size of the banner ads. They look not quite right. The banners don’t cross the page and are sort of half size (have pictures will upload later and do a proper review). But it looked a bit silly and definitely needs some work.
