A couple of reports in the press from strong>TCUK suggest that Yahoo! is cutting back, closing its mobile division to focus on Yahoo! Go.

This is a wise move by the branded search giant. Too many cooks spoil the broth and the number of different edges to the Yahoo! Mobile strategy was blurring the vision.

Go!
is a strong proposition and can incorporate services such as SMS, MMS or Tones and other content services. Content has been a driver of mobile use and uptake, but mobile search technology and how it’s deployed on to platforms will really drive the uptake of mobile.
