Rating: colour coded barcodes

The president of Zaplinks emailed me and said:

Hi,
I wanted to inform you of a new participant in the “mobile barcode” arena.

ZapLinks allows users to create colored circular images which link to content on the internet. Users create their images for free (for personal use) via the website. Once they are posted and others want to access the content from their mobile phones, users simply take a picture of the image and send it to go@zaplinks.com (using MMS or E-mail). A response is returned to the user shortly with a link to the content. The main benefit to ZapLinks is that users don’t need to install any software on their mobile phones to use the service. Other existing mobile barcode services require users to install software on their mobile phones before barcodes can be decoded. This has been regarded as a major hurdle to the uptake of these technologies. Please try it out and inform your readers!

Thanks, Petter Stengard.
President
ZapLinks

I am just publishing this as is as its a nice email and the colour codes look nifty. I haven’t got time to test it on mobile myself - so if anyone can, does or will - please let me know what you think. But its on the list which is horrendously long at the moment.
