Zong reaches 500,000 mobile end-users

• Since February 2007 over 500,000 mobile subscribers have used Zong powered services managed by the platform’s 10,000+ customers coming from over 27 countries;
• New release extends reach for mobile campaigns to over 3 billion mobile subscribers across 500 mobile networks globally;
• Bridges the gap with “web 2.0” services with automatic widget creation and social networks integration.

OK so above is the hype – but what does it mean?
Zong (www.zong.com) is powered b Echovox. The Zong solution enables communities to create mobile services, quickly. So I joined and it seemed easy enough. I could set up an SMS service or mobile app in minutes. BUT – suddenly sandwiched in the easy access bit was do you want your own telephone hotline and your own SMTP? PHP? Gateway whatever?
No idea – so I have joined but have no idea what or how or when or ……
