July Systems today announced that Indian TV channel Zoom TV has become a partner on its Mi-Channels program. Mi-Channels is an ad-supported mobile platform that offers multimedia content to users for free. Zoom TV is an Indian television channel dedicated to Bollywood and celebrity culture – the deal with July Systems means that Indian mobile Internet users will be able to access this content on the mobile web for free.
From the release:
Yudhishter Gopalkrishna, Director, Sales and Business Development at July Systems “We welcome Zoom TV on board Mi Channels, and with this program we’re taking the mobile internet to a mass audience that so far hasn’t even experienced the web. For advertisers and brands, Mi Channels also provides the opportunity to engage with India’s regional audiences, in a language they’re familiar with. Indian advertisers on mobile can now efficiently target consumers across geographies. July Systems will be adding partners from the business, sports, news, entertainment segments on to the program’’
What we think?
This is another idea that probably just wouldn’t work in the US or EU. To a great extent, the mobile web has a captive audience in India. Zoom TV, by offering it’s services for free for Indian viewers, could potentially draw a huge audience to the July Systems portal. The possible advertising revenue there is far beyond what could be expected in a Western nation.

If you have only 1 home computer and is not going to be sharing your connection, then all you want is a Cell Web Card. The USB cards are the most adaptable seeing that you can use them in basically any home computer. Some of them, like the Verizon USB760, even have the software package and drivers preloaded on the device eradicating the want for a Compact disc.
