More fun with Phones 4u we suspect
We feel really sorry for 17-year-old business student Noah Green, who queued for a total of 92 hours outside Apple’s flagship store in London’s Regent Street. It turns out that he really should have been around the corner in Oxford Street. Because the three gorgeous young ladies who make up the Saturdays pop group were giving out the latest iPhone 5s and 5c models to customers. He must be gutted.
Yup. Una Healy, Rochelle Humes and Vanessa White who make up the Saturdays had been enticed along to the Phones 4u flagship store on Oxford Street which really is a stone’s throw away from the Apple Regent Street store.
Apparently, the singers were handing over the brand newApple smartphones to customers along with luxury free gifts.
In addition, they posed for pictures with fans, and even showed off their tech savvy sides by getting involved with the free expert handset demos in store.
However, GoMo News wonders just how many Apple fanbois [fans] really are buying the iPhone 5s or 5c?
That’s because we predicted that the resale value of older iPhone models would fall through the floor once the launch had taken place.
In this story – If you’re going to sell your old iPhone do so quick, we used the Android app from CompareMyMobile.com to find out how much a plain iPhone 5 (16 Gb) would fetch pre-launch.
The answer was £266 for a 16 GB iPhone 5 from mobile phone Xchange. Well today, the price has actually gone up.
mobile phone Xchange at the time of writing is offering £5 more at £271 but you could get £272 from funkmob.
What’s happened? Well, our only explanation is that thousands of Apple fanbois haven’t rushed back home clutching their 5s or 5c and put their old model up for sale.
Given that only 12 per cent of those in the queue outside the Apple store didn’t already possess an iPhone (according to Protect My Bubble here), there should be loads of secondhand iPhones hanging around.
But that hasn’t happened. Curiouser & curiouser.
