Dreameye Media/Simon Hunt threatens GoMo News yet again

Rating: No attempt to refute allegations, of course

What a bizarre situation. A company which described itself back in 2008 as an “Australian based mobile advertising company” has once again issued thinly veiled threats against GoMo News. Its gripe is that we keep printing comments from readers about Dreameye and its owner/operator Simon Hunt in good faith. Most recently from ‘Adam’ who thanked us for alerting him to the company’s track record. See our story here. There has been little attempt by Hunt/Dreameye to refute any of the allegations, of course. It’s difficult to contact him anyway. There’s no www.dreameyemedia.com web site any more and its Skype profile only gives the one number +61468424783 which is some kind of Australian mobile phone number.

We particularly liked this bit. Dreameye Media told us in a Skype IM message, ” With our many contacts in the media, especially technology companies around the world,  your publication has caused [us] financial losses.”

Great, we replied, name then. The list was nothing short of bizarre. Amongst the names given was Delrina, Symantec Corporation, MGI Software and Adaptec.

Well, Roxio was spun out of Adaptec in 2001 and it acquired MGI Software in 2002. Not exactly prime examples of close contacts when these company names were last used over ten years ago.

Dreameye Media informed us that apparently, “Your government will be notified for continued printing of [and] allowing public defamation and personal information being broadcast on GoMo News.”

This was followed by the allegation that, “This has been forwarded to surrey hills police to investigate.”

No attempt to contact the Press Complaints Commission, then?

Well, unlike Simon Hunt, at least we do have a web site which publishes our exact location and at least three different telephone numbers.

Anyone else like to inform us of their experiences with Dreamey Media?
