Nokia misses out on promoting the FM enabled 100
Even with no fewer than three smartphones, GoMo News was stunned to find none of them had a built-in FM radio. We desperately needed one because – despite the frequent ads for the official F1 timing app at Silverstone, we couldn’t get an Internet connexion.
Yet the Nokia 100 has FM and costs only £8. So we paid £6 for the dedicated Silverstone receiver.
We were surprised that even the Nokia N73 didn’t have an FM radio. Only net radio.
UPDATE: The dedicated event radio at Silverstone was supplied by Sounddec.
We were surprised to see that the company has supplied such radios to both Vodafone and O2 for specific sporting events.
It seems even the MNOs struggled to find a decent FM enabled handset. Nokia is missing a trick here.
