Green Fire technologies is a company that tries to help the environment by making mobile phones faster to charge using electricity or solar power.
I had an interesting chat with Founder Jitu Batra at Hit Barcelona and asked how this new technology can help.
Bena: How can you save the environment as all phones need to be charged?
Jitu: We have a power supply that remains charged on your desktop or that can be charged with solar power or both together.
Bena: But how does that save energy if the power supply needs to be charged?
Jitu: So the power supply is intelligent and when it is full it will basically stop using energy. Or if it is sunny it will take solar energy first. Then when you plug it into the phone it boosts the power in the phone and charges it in seconds.
Bena: Wow. So you don’t have to worry about removing the phone from the charger or keeping the charger on all night as the phone is charged instantly. I think Nokia launched a reminder for phones so people stopped charging them too much or something?
Jitu: Yes. But on top of that we can provide power with our solar charger to 1.6 billion people in the world (World Trade) that don’t have any or any reliable technology. Also, that is a first step from Nokia -but this is a global solution.
Bena: OMG. 1.6 billion people don’t have electricity?
Jitu: Yes.
Bena: I see so the phone saves on wasted power, uses solar power, charges the phone fast to reduce emissions and..
Jitu: They are green Power Banks or Instant Power machines. They can increase mobile operators revenue by ensuring that users stay online and charged.
Bena: Super, I like it. Are you live or in BETA?
Jitu:We are in Beta and seeking funding and advisors – but with new guidelines on reducing and recycling we are in a great position.
