Rating: Plans to conquer USA, East Asia and emerging markets
Mobile advertising specialist, madvertise claims to be the fastest growing player in Europe having seen rapid growth of more than 130 per cent in 2012. To handle this growth and expand on its status – particularly in the USA, emerging markets, and East Asia, madvertise has appointed Christof Wittig as its new CEO. Wittig succeeds Carsten Frien, who joins the company’s advisory board whilst Vincent Pelillo and Stefan Benndorf continue in their current roles as COO and CFO, respectively.
madvertise attributes its success to its unique technology which it claims allows advertisers to better target their audiences.
It also points to its network of sales offices covering Europe including the UK, Spain, Italy, and Turkey.
“I am proud and honoured to take over the reigns from Carsten, who has done a terrific job as CEO since 2008,” said Christof Wittig.
“Carsten – together with fellow management and co-founders, has built madvertise to become one of the leading mobile advertising players in Europe today,” he added.
“We will be able to expand on the cutting edge technology platform the company has developed to cut a big slice out of the $20 billion mobile advertising market,” Wittig continued.
Outgoing CEO, Carsten Frien, said,” I am looking forward to contribute to the future expansion of the company as a member of the advisory board and support Christof in his new role.”
Wittig is a German native, who has lived in Silicon Valley for the last decade and has been a serial entrepreneur and CEO to three technology companies in the USA and Germany.
His most recently role has been md for Kii Capital, a San Francisco-based venture fund that invests in mobile apps with massive consumer traction.
madvertise’s flagship madPlus platform delivers interactive mobile advertising campaigns to selected target groups, location based, on mobile websites or in mobile apps.
Customers such as BMW, Ford, ING, Vodafone, Lufthansa, EA Games, Universal and Bacardi trust madvertise to allocate their mobile advertising budget to provide superior performance.
