M:Metrics vs GFK vs Nielsen Mobile

by: Bena Roberts Thursday, May 8th, 2008

So, I spoke to everyone and watched the presentations from the big three metric companies. There is a lot of hype about metrics. Without blowing my own trumpet - I think that my own mobile advertising metrics done using my campaigns are pretty damn good.

I found the mobile advertising average CPM, CPC, CTR - but its not about me!  It’s about the big three.

So, I have to say that I think M:Metrics is winning. Definitely the best mobile presentation. Nielsen was a bit old fashioned with an overview of the TV market rather than real data. M:Metrics does go OTT on metrics and I think that a bit of analysis would really add value to the service. The rumour its up for sale perhaps an industry analyst company will buy them.

GFK, I worked with Wolfgang Wanders the Marketing boss back in 1996 to 2000 when I was at Sony and I loved him. He is a great bloke but I still put GFK in the handset retail market before mobile.
