They Say: Motorola are reportedly developing a digital movie retail programme the folks at Fierce Mobile Content are reporting. Motorola aim to offer full length motion pictures reformatted for the handsets makers multimedia services.

The service could be ready to launch as early as may with Paramount Pictures already signed up as a content partner and other studios supposedly deep into negotiations.

Films would be downloaded to the users PC and then sideloaded (transferred to those of us who don’t have to reinvent words!) to the device. Currently the end user pricing/rental scheme is unknown.

We Say: Interesting moves by Motorola although I have to say I’m still not convinced watching movies on a typical handset sized screen really is the holy grail.
