New iPhone 5 models are ultimate boys toys for Brits

Males under 30 placing orders for 5s & 5c on 4G says Phones 4u’s Hooton

demand truly phenomenal - hooton

Comments just released from Phones 4u‘s COO, Scott Hooton, show that demand for the new iPhone 5c and 5s is strongest amongst males under 30 who want to connect the device to a 4G Network. This flies in the face of the general perception that the latest smartphones from Apple have tanked. No-one should underestimate the loyalty of Apple fanboys it seems. Hooton revealed that not only are pre-orders for the two new models strong, Phoes 4u is “predicting that the new handsets will set a record as generating the most pre-registrations ever at Phones 4u.” Wow. The smartphones go on official release in the UK on September 20th [2013].

Scott Hooton, Chief Commercial Officer at Phones 4u commented, “The demand for the new iPhone 5c and 5s has been truly phenomenal in the first few days of pre-registration.”

“We have already seen double digit growth in pre-registrations compared to the same period for iPhone 5 last year [2012].

He continued, “We know from looking at our pre-registrations that men are currently showing the most interest in the new Apple iPhones (65 per cent).”

“Plus we have also seen a huge appetite for the new smartphones amongst 18-30 year olds, who have taken up almost two thirds of the pre-registrations.”

“To date, this interest has also shown that 75 per cent are intending to purchase the new iPhone 5c or 5s on 4G.”

It seems, however, that Vodafone UK is going heavily on the iPhone 5c for those who order online.

For a limited time, Vodafone is offering a £20 bill credit to customers who pre-order iPhone 5c online. This effectively makes the iPhone 5c 16GB free on a £42 price plan.

The UK MNO is also offering both 4G-ready SIM Only plans (from £26) and 12 month plans.

Luckily Vodafone doesn’t seem to have spotted our rant against the company not ensuring F1 was included in its Sky Sports 4G incentive plan.
