Nissan launches mobile advertising game with Double Fusion and Coresoft
Mobile advertiser Double Fusion has announced that it has helped create an advergame for Nissan. The car manufacturer is including the game as a branch of it’s advertising campaign for new car, cube(R).
The game is called cube(R) Party Roundup, and has been created only for iPhone. Coresoft is the company that actually developed the game. Double Fusion ensured that it was fully integrated with the larger cube(R) campaign. The game itself is a 3D driving game with extensive customisation options for the drivers car. Essentially, it allows the player to create the kind of cube(R) they’d like to see, and then drive it around a 3D city to have a look at it. It also allows up to 8 player multiplayer, but I can’t really imagine that will be used all that often.
It’s a free game, available for download now.
From the release:
“The iPhone is an extremely powerful gaming platform and we are excited to have worked with Nissan to provide auto enthusiasts with an innovative mobile gaming experience,” said Jonathan Epstein, president and CEO, Double Fusion. “Just as the cube fits into the mobile lifestyle of car owners, cubeparty typifies Double Fusion’s commitment to connecting brands and gamers across all platforms and, as our first involvement with a game exclusively for the iPhone, reinforces our dedication to providing unparalleled reach and the ability to target any and all desired gaming audiences.”
“cubeparty is a great way to engage the gaming audience with the Nissan brand through one of the most popular and widespread mobile devices,” said Kerry Feuerman, Group Creative Director at TBWA/Chiat/Day. “Double Fusion’s extensive experience across all interactive platforms allows Nissan to deliver premium gaming content free of charge to a passionate and trendsetting audience.”
What we think?
The alliance between car manufacturers and mobile devices is a long-standing one. Particularly car manufacturers and the iPhone. BMW released an app like this recently for the Z4, but I reckon the Nissan one trumps it simply because the Z4 game cost a dollar to download.
