Orange The Music Show

by: Bena Roberts Monday, July 28th, 2008

Orange today extends its music offering with the launch of its new weekly online music round up, ‘The Music Show’. The new service has become a permanent fixture on the music section of the Orange website and on Orange customers’ handsets through Orange World following the success of recent trials from Glastonbury festival where one episode was filmed and uploaded daily.

The weekly six-minute clip will include exclusive music news, interviews with big name bands, track-by-track album reviews by the artists themselves and monthly live sessions. The show will also include the ‘ Orange Press Pass ‘, where a fan gets the opportunity to meet their music heroes backstage at a gig.

What we think?
I love these types of initiatives. About 20 years ago (yikes) my friend Helen won a back stage pass to Reading Festival. One night she got sick and gave me the pass and I met my (at the time hero) Andrew Eldritch the lead singer of The Sisters of Mercy and he held my hand. I will never forget it or the club that gave away the free ticket. Great for loyalty and viral brand building.
