Rob Conway is giving a powerful speech saying that mobile broadband is vital globally. Highlighting the economic crisis he encourages governments to focus on infrastructure. Housing won’t save the economy but focusing on infrustucture, green base stations and spectrum will.

Suddenly on a positive note he says that mobile will not face a downturn a the phone is too personal. The car will be downgraded before the mobile.

Mobile advertising was highlighted as huge potential and NFC was second with mobile banking third.

Mobile metrics will revolutionize the mobile space and the gsma was leading in this initiative in the UK. Next year the first cross operator mobile operator metrics will make mobile inventory grow.

Interestingly in Taiwan 90percent of consumers in a survey would stop using plastic cards if NFC was more widly available.

Am on the iPhone so more comments to come but I feel motivated. Great speech.
