Users have new flexible cloud service to sync mobile data across diverse devices
Funambol, the leader of smart cloud sync solutions, and simyo, the mobile brand for a new generation of customers, has announced that the new simyo Sync service, based on Funambol MediaHub, is now live. simyo Sync enables users to keep mobile phones, tablets, PCs and other devices in sync with a digital locker in the cloud. It backs up user data and allows easy access across multiple devices.“simyo Sync extends the simyo brand and value across all of our users’ mobile devices,” said Nicolas Biagosch, simyo CEO.
“The integration of Funambol was easy and enabled us to deploy our service quickly so that we could be the first in our market to offer a cloud digital locker.”
simyo is one of the leading European MVNOs – and part of KPN, the fourth largest carrier in Europe – providing mobile services to over one million customers.
To provide its users with more value-added services, it selected Funambol due to its flexible data and device support as well as rapid time-to-market.
Unlike other mobile sync solutions, MediaHub is a white-label solution for mobile operators, device makers and other companies that want to deploy a digital locker to their users.
It supports the most types of data (e.g. PIM data, rich media and files) and devices. simyo Sync initially syncs PIM data (e.g. contacts and calendars) and complies with all European data privacy and security regulations.
“Funambol is pleased that simyo chose Funambol and is now live for its million-plus users,” said Amit Chawla, Funambol CEO.
“Along with major customers that are deploying it in Asia and the Americas this month, MediaHub is the world’s fastest growing white-label digital locker solution for diverse devices.
“The new simyo Sync service is free for all users and is immediately available here.
Funambol is the leading provider of smart cloud sync solutions for mobile phones and connected devices, powered by open source. The commercial version of Funambol has been deployed by top mobile operators, device manufacturers, internet companies, service providers and ISVs.
