AdMob’s stats show keenest and most infrequent mobile app downloaders

Rating: Step forward iPod Touch and Palm owners

In January 2010, AdMob ran an opt-in survey of nearly 1,000 software consumers. The range of devices included the iPhone, iPod Touch, Android and Palm’s webOS. Each month on average iPod Touch users downloaded 12 apps while Palm webOS users only managed just under six apps.

admob-ad-mob AdMob metrics time means iPhone stats time, as the large mobile advertising network presents its global data on the use of Apples smartphone. The key findings for the month of June show continued dominance of the iPhone and iPod Touch. But the percentage share of global ad requests made through those devices has dropped since the last report. It has also shown a dramatic increase in the number of requests made through Android devices.

Truphone today announced that AOL Instant Messenger (AIM) has been integrated into its iPhone and iPod touch apps. The inclusion of AIM means Truphone customers can now keep in touch with over 800 million addressable accounts for free.

According to AdMobs December 2008 Metrics report, requests made to AdMob by iPod Touch more than tripled during December. The biggest spike was during the week after Christmas.
