4G could aid musicians using the new Pono music format

Rating: 4G gives Pono a sporting chance for music downloads

Amongst music fans, it’s been long known that typical MP3 files lack the kind of audio quality that you’d expect from a good hi-fi system and vinyl records. The catch is that MP3 has established itself as the de facto standard. Songkick’s iPhone was only released in June [2011] and was created by Denmark’s Shape. Moreover, it was developed using Songkick’s public API and more details on that are here. The Songkick service describes itself as 100,000 concerts in your pocket and effectively provides a personalised local gig calendar for your favourite bands. However, Songkick reminds us of another favourite site of ours – Lemonrock. Instead of concentrating on the big names in the Music Biz, it covers pub rock. It also just happens to have its own iPhone app, too. Continue reading
