Symbian opens mobile social networking development to app makers

symbian Symbian has kicked off an interesting option for mobile app developers today. “Open” mobile operating systems seem to revolve around a series of tools that allow developers to better optimise their apps for the OS. But Symbian has opened up its own internal development process - allowing developers to get involved in the process before it’s actually ready for launch.

GoMo News scooped coverage of GupShup calling it Vinadoo Hot here. But a lot has changed since then. The Indian based mobile social networking service launched in April 2007 now boasts 20 million users in 900,000 communities.
