apple-quattroYesterday was a hell of a day for mobile news. Google finally confirmed that, yes, the Nexus One is real and we can buy one soon - but Apple did it’s level best to draw attention away from Google by announcing it intended to buy it’s own mobile advertising company (see our report here). This has caused a flurry of comments from all corners, and here at GoMo we were contacted by mobile advertising executives who wanted us to know what they thought about it. Read on to see the industry opinion on this important deal.

apple-quattroWhen Google announced its planned $750 million purchase of mobile advertiser AdMob, it caused something approaching jubilation in many quarters. It also caused a hell of a lot of skepticism and uncertainty - the purchase is currently mired in legal objections. But Apple evidently thought it was a good idea, as sources are now reporting that the maker of the iPhone will be purchasing its own mobile advertiser: Quattro Wireless.

Quattro Wireless today announced an expansion of it’s mobile ad network across Western Europe, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa and Asia. Up until now, Quattro has focused on Fortune 500 brands and direct marketers. Now the Quattro network will now include both International- and country-specific publishers and advertisers.

Newsmax Media has launched a mobile version of its Newsmax.com website, with Quattro Wireless. With the newly developed site, users of mobile devices will have their browser automatically redirected to the mobile version of Newsmax.com.
