The QR Code belt buckle

I just loved this picture in Wired of the QR Belt Buckle.  Apparently some Australian company is getting all innovative and putting QR Codes on anything and can design any product for you. The company is called… Fluid Forms

What we think?

I think it is innovative but I am not sure I would want someone bending down on the ground to take a picture of my fat belly and belt.  If you have a great body -I am sure you wouldn’t mind though!

But really - you can be innovative with mobile codes -but I am quite hot on the sticker type of code. Now what were they called…

iPinz- that’s it!  I met someone at CTIA and they showed me some stickers that were re-usable and they could have any code on them. They were cheap and you could stick them on to anything to  highlight a brand or party or whatever.  That might the friendlier cheaper alternative.

What we need are cameras in our belt buckles that look out for QR codes. That way you don’t need to bend down. Just walk around thrusting your hips at someone or something you want info on. It scans their QR belt-buckle and contact details are exchanged or not. All with a thrust of the hip.

good grief! It sounds like a new dating game. Create a QR code with your status (single/ not-single), star sign and other personal information and stand infront of someone with your camera or QR belt to scan the code and see if you match or not..

you could rent them in pubs!

I reckon the person modelling the QR code belt buckle probably has QR codes strategically tatooed on various body parts too… though why I don’t know. Perhaps rather than thrusting his hips he just waves his kn*b about the place?

good grief (again) first hip thrusting then K*** what next!

Thanks for the nice article and the comments,

The belt buckle is just the start of series…rings, brooches and cufflinks will follow…So bending down is not a must ;) -> belt buckle starts on May 27th

PS: We are a company from Austria and not Australia. But that happens so often to us when travelling around. And Austria is really a tiny country (right in the middle of Europe) ;)
