Yahoo! announced a men’s college basketball mobile offering to help fans follow their favorite team from the first tip-off to the final buzzer — all via the convenience of their mobile phone.
Fans can get up-to-the-minute information on the 65 teams vying for the men’s basketball national championship through three new mobile tools: the new Men’s College Hoops mobile widget, available to users of Yahoo! Go 3.0 flagship mobile offering; a dedicated mobile tournament website (http://m.yahoo.com/ncaa); and Yahoo! oneSearch, which has been specially configured to bring users specialized content to coincide with their men’s college basketball-related searches.
Wait there is more:
There is also a widget available on Yahoo! Go 3.0 at beta.m.yahoo.com.
Yikes – there is even a sponsor
Someone it seems even put advertising dollarsinto the creation of this hoop-la widget its of course Nike. Um, Sorry, I mean Jaguar?
The car company?
I have to say the new Jaguar looks very very sexy but I fail to see the basketball connection. But then I am European and short so I prefer football anyway.
But this is yet another example of the car companies getting in on the mobile ad game. They seem to be the ones with the dollars and this is Jaguar’s first ever mobile campaign, says Yahoo!
